Repeat: I Am Not Reading That Thing!

In light of Lindsay Perigo's recent decision to bow out of TOC's 2006 Summer Seminar because he didn't have the guts to be in the same room as Barbara Branden (how heroic of him. /sarcasm), even going so far as blaming TOC of staging the invite to fill seats (this kind of drama does nothing for me, but Linz seems to think it holds wide appeal in the Objectivist realm), and blaming TOC for what amounts to his own lack of ability to breath the same air as B. Branden.

Do I think Barbara Branden should apologize for calling Linz an alcoholic in public? You bet.
Do I think Linz is being rational for canceling his appearance at Summer Seminar because he never got said apology? Not really. His reaction reminds me of someone "gone postal." He's pissed at one, so a rationalization emerges to gun down everyone.

I can't imagine a real hero giving up so easily, handing over power of personal integrity to imagined foes. But, that's what he's done.

Linz ends his explanation of bowing out with a plea for those who haven't done so to read that Vallient book ("Passion of the Critics of Ayn Rand"). Ugh! No thanks! I knew that recycled roll of toilet paper {peeyewwww!} wouldn't have any value for me, or further my understanding of Objectivism the first time I read this solid review by Dennis Hardin:

Thanks anyway!

I've been out on the frontlines for 13 years fighting collectivists, socialists, and doing my own thing. A week after launching www.capitalismgear.com and 're-entering' the objectivist pool, I can see it is still populated by people peeing in the water...Never understood all of the infighting, which is why I should stick to fighting the bad guys, I guess.
