Letter to 60 Minutes

I'm going to be sending similar letters to whatever program airs global warming crap on television when I see it. The following was emailed to CBS 60 Minutes last night:

Good evening 60 Minutes,

I'm writing about the Global Warming segment aired on 60 Minutes this evening, and how very disappointed I am that the producers and fine journalists of this segment did nothing to further investigate the accuracy of the scientist's claims. Instead, 60 Minutes broadcast this segment as fact, despite the rising volume of dissenting voices in the field of environmental science that exists.

This is tantamount to another Dan Rather scandal in my mind. The science forwarded in the segment is flatly and plainly wrong, yet it was aired as a true set of facts. For example, what gases were measured in the ice core samples? What were those measurements? These facts aren't mentioned, and I'm afraid it's because 60 Minutes didn't want viewers to check the science for themselves.

Truth is, man made climate change is a lie. A big fat grant grabbing lie.

Don't believe it? Take a look at the evidence from the opposing team:

Honestly, I don't want to think that 60 Minutes is just another "human hating," bureaucracy loving parrot farm, but that's what I'm left with after watching that segment tonight.

The British documentary linked above is incredibly popular because it demolishes claims like those made on 60 Minutes tonight.

Sincerely yours,

The Great Global Warming Swindle (Complete)

Anyone watch the 60 Minutes polly wanna cracker parrot segment on global warming tonight?
I'm so tired of over paid tv journalists telling me what to think. I sent them a link to this documentary, that basically destroys Al Gores human hating, Academy award winning science fiction film.

Confirming my notion that Unions suck...

I got kicked off of a jury a couple of years ago because I expressed no affection for union labor or policies. The trial case involved a local union dude who was arrested for assault during some kind of protest. The prosecutor fought to keep me, but I was eliminated under the defense's option.

Now comes Peter List, who's been very busy, I see, compiling genuine arguments against labor unions under a new website www.employerreport.com The following was emailed to me from his office (I had to share, Pete. It's good stuff!) I was shocked to learn of Pete's former affiliation with the enemy! :c0 He's since redeemed himself, and shines the light of capitalism.

Former Union Activist Launches Website Exposing Unions' Assault on American Workplace: EmployerReport.comPR Newswire -- August 29, 2006FAIRFIELD, N.J., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Peter A. List, former unionactivist and one of the nation's most sought-after experts in employeerelations and union avoidance has launched a website exposing laborunions' assault on workplace democracy and American free enterprise.EmployerReport.com provides employers with insight and information ontoday's unions, as well as a detailed analysis of EFCA: the KillAmerican Jobs Act."One of the biggest threats facing America today is the threat fromtoday's labor movement and the Employee Free Choice Act, a euphemism forwhat should be more aptly called the Kill American Jobs Act," explainsMr. List. "If this destructive legislation is passed by Congress andsigned into law, it will be the biggest political payoff in history toany special interest group and will have a devastating impact on smallbusinesses and American jobs."EFCA (or the Kill American Jobs Act) is broken into two primarycomponents: 1) Forced recognition of unions onto every private-sectorworkplace with two or more workers that falls under the jurisdiction ofthe National Labor Relations Act and 2) binding arbitration offirst-time collective bargaining agreements. This one-two punch willhave the effect of 1) annihilating employees' freedom to vote in asecret-ballot election to determine whether or not to unionize theiremployer, as well as destroying employers' freedom of speech, and 2)third-party arbitrators deciding on wages, hours and working conditionsthat an employer must provide their employees, effectively killingcountless American jobs."Unions wrongly claim that employers should have nothing to say aboutwhether or not their employees unionize their companies," states List."However, there is more than ample evidence of the negative impactunions have on companies and the jobs they provide. Why shouldn't anemployer keep his constitutionally-protected freedom of speech todiscuss this issue?""While there has been some media exposure on unions' efforts to destroythe secret-ballot," continues List, "very little attention has beenfocused on EFCA's other component -- that is submission of theemployer's economic condition to a third-party ruler."Aside from the economic havoc that widespread unionization would wreakon America's competitiveness, as many small companies will likely closetheir doors. Mr. List states that larger companies will likely viewfurther downsizing and outsourcing as an alternative to subjecting theirbalance sheets to a third-party who has no interest in the viability ofthe business."After killing off entire industries in America," List explains, "itseems rather depraved that today's unions have become so patheticallydesperate that they are willing to sacrifice the rest of America'sworkers whose jobs are vulnerable to globalization in order to unionizejobs that they deem can't be outsourced.'"(To view Mr. List's article, EFCA: The Kill American Jobs Act, go to:http://www.employerreport.com ).About Peter A. Superheroes are Back on Primetime!

If you haven't watched it yet, catch "Kyle XY" on NBC Monday and Friday nights. If you're sick of dark, dank crime dramas, obnoxious "Office" sitcoms, and staged talent shows, Kyle's got you covered.

Are superheroes making a comeback to prime time?? Galt, I hope so, and if Kyle XY is any indication of this trend, we've got some exciting, inspiring TV viewing to look forward to this fall. Kyle's been picked up for a fall series. Good news for "Good." Kyle is all about "good." Not an evil or misguided premise in the show so far. And unless Kyle get's introduced to, and duped into "believing" theocratic mumbo jumbo as the foundation for "good," I'm going to keep watching this teenaged wonder of a character.

I've been catching some previews of another new prime time show coming up this fall titled, simply, "Heroes." So far, I'm lovin' that part. I'm only hoping it's as good, if not better, than Kyle XY, which is plain awesome.

So, who's behind this "Superhero" trend on television? I wish I knew so I could thank him/her personally.

Student Wants Speech to Be Totally "Free"

I heard about this story a week or so ago, but didn't think much of it until this morning when it was highlighted on the Today Show.

I haven't been able to find the actual story on the web, so if anyone can point me to a link, I would really appreciate it.

A girl was "unplugged" during her graduation speech because she failed to follow the school's guidelines regarding preaching at the podium at taxpayer expense.

This new graduate, at the top of her class in a public highschool, turned her speech in to administrators for approval before commencement. Administrator's edited her sermon, and asked that she not "preach" during her speech. The girl agreed, but then went back on her word during the ceremony and read her original speech with all of the preaching and missionary pontificates.

After many minutes, she was finally unplugged by administrators during the ceremony, to the boos of many in the audience.

The girl and her parents were interviewed on the Today show this morning complaining that her "right" to "free speech" was infringed. Today Show host Matt Lauer bit and held on to the accusation, never once asking about the "rights of the people" to be free from such non-sense.

This girl and her parents are absolutely free to preach whatever they wish, but not at taxpayer expense. They are free to purchase or rent any stage, podium, microphone, and speaker system, usher hoodwink an audience into listening, but only at their own expense. They are not "free" to hijack the time and property of the neutral taxpayers.

School administrators perform a delicate balancing act when it comes to student speech. They are not opposed to casual and sincere mentions of faith, nor is this discouraged. Quite the contrary. Administrators are very interested in that which facilitates a student's success. If faith played a part in that success, there is no rule which would, or should, restrict a student's testimony of that perceived fact.

What administrators cannot sanction is outright street "preaching" of any religious teaching, as this is not a facilitator of student success. It's recruitment at taxpayer expense, and something they cannot tolerate. Recruit on your own time, not the taxpayers.

Unfortunately, this girl and her parents are ignorant of this distinction and chose to paint the district in the worst kind of light, accusing them of deliberately squelching their daughter. She was squelched, because she refused to follow the rules. The very same district that honored their child with one of it's highest awards for academic achievement.

And the Today Show, pandering to a largely Christian audience, ate it all up.

Business As Usual for Senetor Stabenow

About a month ago I signed a petition that would change the law regarding government sanctioned monopolies toward cable television companies in Michigan. Specifically, Comcast Cable. The citizens want choice when it comes to their cable service, but like anything the consumer "wants," the government is hell bent to control, and then pretend they have no control when consumers complain.

I received the following response from Michigan Senetor Stabenow regarding the complaint letter sent by me when I signed the on-line petition:
___________________________________________________________

"Thank you . . .

. . . for contacting me regarding your cable service issue. I understand your concern about the rising price of cable in your area.

In the past, I have written to Charter Communications expressing my disappointment in rate increases. However, the Federal government does not regulate the prices of cable television. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and local franchising authorities are responsible for enforcing a variety of cable regulations. The FCC has information on filing complaints with both federal and local authorities on its website (www.fcc.gov). Should legislation that seeks to regulate cable costs come before the U.S. Senate for a vote, please rest assured that I will keep your opinions in mind. Also, I encourage you to contact your cable company directly to share your concerns.

Thank you again for taking the time to express your views about this issue. Please do not hesitate to contact my office again whenever I may be of assistance to you and your family.

Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator "

____________________________________________________________

The government has place strict controls on this market, and now is pretending they have no control! They sit on their hands and tell ME to contact the cable company, the very company that is paying THEM to stay in place and keep things the way they are.

Typical Demoncrat.

Beads From the Devil

Well, the beads from the devil arrived (finally) and they're absolutely perfect. Clean holes, perfect shapes, no cracks, held up to being dropped and dunked, the whole thing.

So called "Artists" can really be whinny. Michael Newberry made the very same observation today on Rebirth of Reason, which is ironic as all hell. (www.rebirthofreason.com):

"I can’t see Objectivism moving forward by the practitioners that equate passion with victimhood–I am kinda shocked at how infantile they are–hahahah, at least, I don’t have friends that stupid.. Its so simple–instead of playing victim one should focus their energy on creating–oh, but yes, that’s right, creating is 100-times more difficult. Raising the whine over creativity is a hallmark of Postmodernism–perhaps that should be a new title, PO’s Postmodern Objectivists."

Same goes for those in the bead biz.
